Gerhard Garhöfer
Board-certified specialist in ophthalmology at the Medical University of Vienna, where he serves as Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and heads the Ophthalmo-Pharmacology research division.
His research focuses on ocular pharmacology, drug development, and clinical pharmacology, with a special focus on neurodegenerative diseases. He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications in ocular physiology and pharmacology.
He previously served as Vice-President of the European Association for Vision and Eye Research (EVER) and as an Executive Board Member of the European Glaucoma Society (EGS). He is also involved in regulatory activities at the European level as a member of the board of experts of the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

Hari Jayaram
Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Clinician-Scientist at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he serves as Director of the Glaucoma Service, with an honorary academic appointment as Associate Professor at the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London.
He is a previous NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer at Moorfields and a Fulbright Scholar, having spent two years at the Casey Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon, studying new experimental glaucoma models.
He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Research Management Committee and New Technologies Committee, and Chair of the Consultants Committee at Moorfields Eye Hospital. His work includes glaucoma surgical trials, innovations in healthcare delivery through high-volume diagnostic hubs, and laboratory research focused on optic nerve protection using extracellular vesicles and stem cells.

Professor Gus Gazzard
Professor of Ophthalmology at UCL, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Emeritus Director of Surgery at Moorfields, and Past President of the UK Glaucoma Society.
He became Consultant in the Glaucoma Service at Moorfields Eye Hospital in 2009 after training at Cambridge University, a Clinical Fellowship at Moorfields (2006–08), and a two-year Research Fellowship with Professor Peng Khaw. His research degree focused on angle anatomy and visual field loss in angle-closure glaucoma.
He has led and co-led major international clinical trials including the LiGHT trial and LiGHT-China, and is currently involved in the COAST, NAMING, and GLAUrious randomized controlled trials of glaucoma therapies.
He has published widely on surgical trials, including contributions to The Lancet and the Cochrane Library, and has been recognised globally for his influence in ophthalmology, including ranking number one in the 2026 global Power List.

Dr. Pradeep Ramulu
Director of the Wilmer Glaucoma Service, studying the functional consequences of visual impairment using patient-reported outcomes, observation of task performance, and real-world behavioural monitoring.
His additional roles include incoming President of the American Glaucoma Society, Council Member of the National Eye Institute, and Education Committee Head and past Program Chair of the World Glaucoma Association.
His work also focuses on the protective role of physical activity in eye disease and on preventing falls and preserving independence in older visually impaired adults.

Miriam Kolko
Professor at the University of Copenhagen and Chief Physician at the Department of Ophthalmology at Rigshospitalet and Aalborg University Hospital. She also leads the private hospital Your Eye Doctors.
Her research focuses on translational and clinical studies in glaucoma and ocular surface disease. She leads the Eye Translational Research Unit (EyeTRU), has published more than 170 papers, develops and explores new treatment modalities for glaucoma and ocular surface disease, and heads the large-scale FOREVER project.
She has influenced regulatory changes regarding preservatives in eye drops to improve patient care, and holds international roles in the European Glaucoma Society and World Glaucoma Association. In 2021, she was named among the 100 most influential female ophthalmologists worldwide and ranked number 3 in glaucoma research by ScholarsGPS (Prior 5 Years, 2025).

Luís Abegão Pinto
Head of the Glaucoma Clinic at Hospital Santa Maria, Portugal’s largest hospital. He has served on the Executive Board of the European Glaucoma Society since 2018 and is currently President of the EGS.
He has authored or co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in glaucoma, including co-editing the EGS Guide on Surgical Innovation.
He is actively engaged in several international ophthalmological societies, including EGS and EVER, and has chaired and co-chaired multiple courses at international meetings.

Ingeborg Stalmans
Professor of Ophthalmology at KU Leuven, Director of the Research Group Ophthalmology, and Head of the Glaucoma Service at University Hospitals Leuven (UZ Leuven).
An internationally recognised glaucoma specialist with extensive expertise in both medical and surgical glaucoma management, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and frequently lectures at international congresses.
She has served in leadership roles within the European Glaucoma Society, contributing to guideline development, education programmes, and the training of the next generation of glaucoma specialists.

Gauti Jóhannesson
Gauti Jóhannesson is Chief Physician of S:t Eriks Eye Hospital and Associate Professor in Ophthalmology at Umeå University. His main research interests are glaucoma treatment and pathophysiology.
He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and received research grants exceeding 52 MSEK. He holds active roles in several national and international organisations, including Secretary General of the European Glaucoma Society and President of the Swedish Glaucoma Society.

Amelie Botling Taube
Amelie Botling Taube is Consultant and Head of the Glaucoma Service at S:t Eriks Eye Hospital. She is a glaucoma surgeon with particular expertise in pediatric glaucoma.
Her research focuses on pseudoexfoliative glaucoma, proteomics, and disease pathophysiology. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Swedish Glaucoma Society.
